Volunteer for RRR

On this page, you will find information about how you can help RRR reach our goals for fostering, sanctuary, fundraising, education events

Fostering

We are always in desperate need of foster homes for these precious critters. Fostering requires the foster parents to pay for food and shelter; however, the rescue pays for veterinary expenses incurred at select animal hospitals with which the rescue has an agreement. Foster parents must be responsible adults, understanding that this pet depends on him/her for all its needs and that fostering is for long amounts of time, months to years. Interested parties must apply to become foster parents, and sign an agreement once approved. Download Foster Home Application Here.

Sanctuary

Occasionally, pets are "unadoptable," or only available for adoption as "special needs" critters. These pets need good homes, understanding that some of these critters have behavioral in addition to medical conditions that prevent general adopters from caring for these critters. Sanctuary homes are required to pay for food, shelter and toys for the sanctuary pets. Veterinary care is provided by the rescue. If a "special needs" pet is adopted, the new family is expected to understand that these pets require adequate food, shelter, toys and medical care, that is not provided by the rescue. Medical care can easily cost $1000 per year, or more, and this pet cannot be euthanized because the adopter no longer wishes to pay for the veterinary bills. Interested parties must apply and sign an agreement following approval. Download Sanctuary Home Application Here.

Fundraising

RRR is always in need of funds for veterinary care as well as food, litter, toys, website support and hopes for a rescue shelter building in the future. We need people to help sew pet hammocks (fabric provided by the rescue) to sell to fellow pet owners. We also need volunteers for car washes, contacting local business for donations for raffles and Bowl-a-Rama (yearly in August), donations of greens and other pet supplies for the rescue.

Education Events

RRR is dedicated to educating people about critters and the care they require. We hold education events, where the public can learn about caring for a rabbit, guinea pig, chinchilla, gerbil, hamster or other critters and ask questions. Saving animals starts with education and RRR needs volunteers to help coordinate these events, bring snacks, and hand out information. Contact Laurie if you wish to volunteer at education events.
